UDS wins the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football.

In a stunning turn of events, the University for Development Studies (UDS) 🇬🇭 has made history by winning the FISU World Cup football tournament! 🏆 The local Black Stars  came from behind with the true Africa spirit to defeat Paulista University 2-1 in extra time.

Trailing 1-0 at the 54-minute mark, UDS showed remarkable resilience and determination to mount a comeback. The team’s efforts paid off in extra time, when a late and decisive corner kick sealed the win. This incredible comeback will be etched in the memories of football fans forever.

This victory marks a milestone for African football, as UDS becomes the first team from the continent to lift the FISU World Cup trophy.  The team’s triumph is a testament to the talent, dedication, perseverance of Ghanaian footballers and also cementing Ghana’s reputation as a football powerhouse.

Chouaib Doukkali University from Morocco showcased impressive skills in the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football, narrowly missing the bronze medal in a closely contested match against the University of Granada from Spain.

Chouaib Doukkali University’s comeback bid was dealt a harsh blow after a red card was issued for an offensive play, leaving them to rue the moment in their quest for bronze.

Despite not securing the third-place spot, the Moroccan team’s determination and teamwork were evident throughout the tournament. Their participation in the event highlights Morocco’s growing presence in international university football competitions
