The vibrant courts of the United States International University-Africa (USIU-A) were the epicenter of African university tennis from the 4th to the 5th of October, as they played host to the prestigious 4th FASU Tennis Slam. The two-day event showcased breathtaking athleticism, fierce rivalry, and outstanding sportsmanship, with Uganda Christian University (UCU) emerging as the tournament’s most decorated institution.
The event brought together top university tennis talents from across the continent, creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with powerful serves, precise volleys, and dramatic rallies. The spirit of friendly competition and continental unity was palpable throughout the weekend.

A Clean Sweep for UCU’s Finest
The Men’s singles competition was a masterclass display from UCU, with Trevor Kazibwe clinching the Gold Medal after a hard-fought battle against his teammate, Frank Tayebwa, who took home the Silver. The Bronze medals were shared by JimClaude Ochieng and Temoi Regan Kimtai from Kenyatta University, demonstrating the depth of talent at the event.
The dominance continued in the Men’s Doubles, where the formidable UCU pairing of Frank Tayebwa and Trevor Kazibwe proved too strong for the competition, securing another Gold medal.
