LASU Team captain expresses satisfaction with Second-Place Finish

The General team Captain of Lagos State University (LASU), Ladipo Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa, has expressed his happiness with the university’s performance at the 11th All Africa University Games.

Despite falling short of the overall championship title, LASU secured a commendable second-place finish behind American University, Cairo.

Ibukunoluwa believes that LASU’s athletes made the university community proud with their impressive performance, winning a total of 28 gold, 30 silver, and 26 bronze medals.

“I am very happy with our performance at the Games. I would have loved LASU to emerge the overall champion of the Games but coming second is equally good because it shows that we have the talents that can conquer Africa,” Ibukunoluwa said.

The team captain commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and the LASU management for upgrading the university’s sporting facilities in preparation for the Games. He noted that these improvements will benefit the students for years to come.

“Kudos must go to our Vice-Chancellor and her management team for the transformation witnessed in all sporting facilities in LASU ahead of the Games. Though FASU Games had ended, the facilities are there for the benefit of the students and we’re very grateful,” Ibukunoluwa concluded.
