The eyes of the university sports world will turn to the Dalian Suoyu Bay Football Stadium for the grand final of the FISU World University Football Cup. Representing the hopes of a nation and an entire continent, Ghana’s University for Development Studies (UDS) will step onto the pitch for the most significant match in its history, aiming to secure the ultimate prize and be crowned world champions while Morocco’s University of Chouaib Doukkali will battle for a well-deserved bronze medal

In a semi-final clash that had spectators on the edge of their seats, Ghana’s UDS showcased immense character and resilience against a tough University of Granada side from Spain. After a grueling match where neither team could break the deadlock, the fate of the final was decided by the drama of a penalty shootout.
Holding their nerve like true champions, the local Black Stars of Ghana were flawless from the spot, triumphing 5-4 in the intense shootout.

This incredible run to the final evokes powerful memories of 2009, when Ghana’s Black Satellites became the first and only African nation to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup. University of Chouaib Doukkali to Battle for Bronze 🇲🇦
Morocco’s valiant campaign in the semi-final saw them face a difficult opponent. While the result was not what they hoped for, the University of Chouaib Doukkali played with exceptional skill and honour throughout the tournament, entering the semi-finals as the only unbeaten team.

Their journey is far from over. The young Atlas Lions will now regroup to play in the bronze medal match, a chance to grab bronze as reward of their hard work in this tournament
Standing between UDS and the coveted trophy is a formidable opponent, Brazil’s Paulista University. and for the bronze match, University of Chouaib Doukkali will face the Spanish side University of Granada
