Egypt National team crowned champions of the 2nd edition of the Zayed Arab University Futsal Championship

The Egypt national team was crowned victors of the 2nd edition of the Zayed Arab University Futsal Championship which was held at the Emirates University in Al Ain from 26th to 30th December, 2022.
The competition which was organized by the Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, in cooperation with the Arab Federation for University Sports saw participants from 15 Arab countries tussle out on the pitch in the quest for glory.
The African sides dominated the competition, occupying the top three spots.
The Egyptian National University team were able to defend the title after defeating the Moroccans (4:3) in the final which was decided in penalty shootout after the regulation time had elapsed with the game in a 3:3 stalemate.
The Libya national team came in third place after defeating the Iraqis with two goals to one in the third place playoff game.
Moroccan national team player, Anas Dajani won the tournament’s top scorer award with 11 goals having been so lethal in front of goal.
Dr. Saeed Al-Hassani, President of the Arab Union for University Sports expressed his gratitude and pride for all the delegations participating in the Arab Championship, which hosted elite people from the Arab world in a wonderful and organized demonstration of sports competition, during which the talents and creativity of students were on display.
Al-Hassani also extended his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the UAE University, for hosting the tournament providing all the necessary facilities, and overcoming all difficulties in order to make it a success. He went on to appreciate The General Secretariat of the Arab Federation, Ibrahim Mukhtar, tournament director, Hamdi Khalil, General coordinator, and Hazem Abdel. Al-Mohsen, the technical director, for their efforts to make it a success. He finally thanked the sponsors and strategic partners who contributed to the success of the event.
