6th FASU Cross Country Championship Rescheduled for January 13, 2024

The Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) has decided to reschedule the highly anticipated 6th FASU Cross Country Championship. Initially slated for November 12, 2023, at KCA University, Nairobi – Kenya, the event will now take place on January 13, 2024.

The FASU Cross Country Championship holds immense significance in the University Sports calendar, serving as a vital preparatory platform for African teams ahead of the FISU World University Championship in Muscat, Oman, scheduled for February 18, 2024.

As the event date draws near, it has become evident that the number of confirmed participants falls short of the threshold required for a truly competitive championship. Following thorough consultations with key stakeholders, the unanimous decision to reschedule to January 13, 2024, has been made. This decision is underscored by our unwavering commitment to ensuring the optimal experience for participating universities and athletes.

The rescheduled date not only opens the door for increased participation but also promises heightened competition, cultivating an atmosphere conducive to effective preparation for the global stage.
