Cairo – In a glittering ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel Cairo on November 25, 2023, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy the President of the Federation of Africa University Sports Federation and also the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt emerged as the recipient of the prestigious Best Africa Sports Service Award during the Association of African Sports Confederations (UCSA) African Sports Awards.
The Awards took place during the 2nd International Sports Anti-Corruption Conference, International African Sports Exhibition, and the Electoral General Assembly of the Association of African Sports Confederations.
Dr. Sobhy’s recognition comes as a testament to his unwavering dedication and significant impact on the realm of sports services. As an individual who has tirelessly worked to elevate the sporting experience, his influence has resonated not only locally but across the African sports landscape.
The UCSA African Sports Awards showcased a constellation of stars, with notable personalities such as George Manneh Oppong Weah the outgoing President of Liberia and former professional footballer, Sadio Mané a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura the first female Secretary General of FIFA, H.E Minata Samate Cessouma Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, at the Africa Union, Umar Kremlev the President of International Boxing Association (IBA) also receiving accolades for their outstanding contributions to the world of sports.
