REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Africa is such a big continent and with challenges in transportation, communication being a diverse continent. FASU operates with zonal University Sports Federations to ensure that the University students of Africa enjoy interacting with each other through mutual respect and fair play.
Africa is currently divided into 5 zones with view of maximizing opportunities for the students to regularly compete against each other within the continental sub regions. The zones that are currently operational are as follows:-
East Africa University Sports Federation (EAUSF)
West Africa University Sports Federation (WAUG)
Confederation of University and College Sports Association of Zone VI CUCSA
East Africa University Sports Federation (EAUSF)
EAUSF is under the leadership of a renowned sports scholar Professor Jacob Stanley Nteere from Kenya and the Director of Sports at the University of Nairobi. With membership ranging from Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia and Southern Sudan is yet to bring on board the other countries that fall in this region namely: Ethiopia, Eretria, Djibouti, Seychelles and Comoros. Not so easy to get all these countries together politically, economically and spatially.

West Africa University Sports Federation (WAUG)
WAUG is the oldest regional sports association in Africa. It is being steered by Prof. Lasun from Nigeria.

Confederation of University and College Sports Association of Zone VI CUCSA
This is the southern Africa body that coordinates all the university sports activities in Southern Africa a zone that is headed by Mr. Ben Naobeb from Namibia.
